The peacefulness of country living awaits our guests at
Rising Meadow Farm. Enjoy the warmth and hospitality
of the Inn as you are enveloped by the beauty of the surrounding
pastures and gardens.
The center
of the Inn itself is a late 1800's North Carolina farmhouse. Carefully
renovated to maintain the charm of
that era, it boasts the original heart pine floors, board walls and
well-worn stairs with a handmade railing. The additions to the
house were designed to complement the original. The front
porch, complete with swing and rocking chairs, is a favorite sitting
area to catch a cool breeze on a warm day, while the rear deck
offers a vista of natural serenity.
The Inn
Bed and Breakfast accommodations at Rising
Meadow Farm include two guest rooms, each with a private bath.
The fresh smell of line-dried cotton sheets, plenty of soft fluffy
towels, and blankets made from the wool of our sheep add to the
comfort of our guests.
Centrally heated and air conditioned, the Inn is furnished
throughout with antiques and tastefully decorated to showcase both
the house and the furnishings. There are several areas in
which to read, play the piano, or just sit and talk.
The smell of freshly ground coffee will awaken you as you
join us in the dining room for a delicious homemade breakfast.
Berries, fruit and vegetables from the gardens are enjoyed
at our table in season.
Having just a few guests allows us to provide individual
care and attention. Our goal is that you will leave
with a desire to return.
The south bedroom has the
original board walls, ceiling and
floor.
The antique furnishings include twin beds covered with
antique quilts and handmade hooked and braided rugs on the floor. The barn red
woodwork in the bedroom and full bath speak to a long
ago age, while highlighting a comfort-laden facility. The many windows not only
let the sun in from dawn to dusk but offer several views
of pastures and barns.

This north bedroom with its
original board walls, ceiling and floor is furnished with
antiques
and offers a queen-sized bed. The restful soft blue trim of woodwork in the bedroom and adjoining private full
bath are complemented by fresh flowers and herbs for each visiting guest. A truly quiet spot with a little romance
added. With a quick peek out the windows, one might find sheep grazing on the pastures.
