Rising Meadow Farm Tours
Group
tours are welcomed at Rising Meadow Farm. From April
through November we are happy to work with groups individually to
plan what would be of greatest interest and benefit. School
groups, scout groups, garden clubs, Senior Citizen groups and bus
tours have all visited here.
Tour/Field Trip Design-
A tour lasts for approximately one to one and a half hours,
depending on the size and age of the group. During the tour
we talk about the care and feeding of lambs and sheep, the
differences in the three breeds of sheep we raise, the processing
of wool from sheep to finished garment (including demonstrating
carding and handspinning) and general information about the other
animals we raise. We can also give visitors a chance to
touch animals, discuss rare breeds of animals using our
Navajo-Churro Sheep as an example, or go on a wagon ride through
the farm.
Plan to eat:
We welcome groups to enjoy their picnic lunch here on the
farm. As schedule permits, we can provide a picnic lunch or
a buffet lunch/supper for an additional fee.
Tour cost (price subject to change without notice):
$6.00 per person age 2 and older with a minimum of 20 people.
